Tactical First Aid Course – Patrol Officer (1-Day)

ST/OPS Tactical Training Canada develops and delivers world class medical programmes. All our courses adhere to the recommended guidelines laid out by the Committee on Tactical Emergency Casualty Care (Co-TECC) and the Committee on Tactical Combat Casualty Care (Co-TCCC). In addition, your members will benefit from lessons learned from our instructors’ operational military experience and how to apply them to the civilian world of tactical medicine.
This is an 8-hour course designed for every Patrol Officer, giving them the ability to bring the greatest operational effect with a minimum of investment.
Pre-requisites:
- Standard First Aid and CPR
The course will cover the following topics:
- Introduction to Tactical Medicine
- Direct Threat Care and use of tourniquets
- Indirect Threat Care and introduction to the MARCHE algorithm
- Skill stations dealing with the following:
- Massive haemorrhage, wound packing and dressing
- Airway management, recovery position and manual methods
- Respirations, chest injuries, seals and burping
- Circulation, shock recognition, pelvis and femur stabilization
- Hypothermia prevention strategies and adjuncts
The Skill Stations will incorporate the use of our patented medical simulation products to afford the most realistic experience for the student.
